BrainRx is a researched cognitive training program. Students are first tested to accurately measure current cognitive skill levels. There after a separate consultation is arranged to discuss the outcome/results of the assessment, where a prescribed programme may be discussed.

The program consists of one-on-one training and digital exercises which increase through complexity and intensity.  The minimum requirement is to attend at least three sessions per week for the duration of 90 minutes per session. The amount of sessions will be determined according to the results and needs of the client and or parents.

BrainRx brain training programs combine the proven power of one-on-one professional training with state-of-the-art online training to create a powerful training system for students who want to:

  • Maximize their learning and reading potential
  • Think and reason faster and more accurately
  • Master English studies more easily than otherwise possible
  • Enhance core learning skills including memory, attention, and processing speed.

While the process for each student is similar, it is BrainRx’s ability to be fully customised for each student’s needs that makes it so effective.

The student is then matched to a trainer who will stay with them throughout the entire training schedule. (This personal, one-on-one relationship sets BrainRx programs apart from other tutoring programs, and the training method that BrainRx uses sets it apart from individual in-home tutoring, which only re-teaches material. BrainRx is truly unique.)

A set of custom training goals and procedures are designed, based on that particular student’s skill strengths and weaknesses. The program is supported with excellent digital training procedures. The student’s training proceeds using both one-on-one sessions and digital online training tools. Regular review of the student’s progress keeps the custom program focused and effective. Final testing documents the effectiveness of the training and the skill changes in each student. Results are dramatic and measurable. Follow the directions below as a fun way to improve your attention skills, enhance working memory, and build visual manipulation skills. Each level increases the difficulty by adding a second mental challenge. Don’t worry…your brain can adapt and grow! Try it alone or try it with your child. Many people can actually FEEL THEIR BRAIN WORKING. That’s because when done with intensity
and frequency, this exercise will actually map new neural pathways in your brain!

Directions

From the top row, left to right, call out the color of each of the arrows without a mistake. Simple. Now call out the direction of each arrow. Do it without error in 40 seconds. Keep practicing until you can do it in only 20 seconds. Next, call out the direction of the arrows as if they were turned a quarter-turn clockwise. Get that time down to 20 seconds without error.

Now comes the fun…

Call out the color of the UP and DOWN arrows, and call out the direction of the LEFT and RIGHT arrows (this requires divided attention). Once mastered, increase the difficulty by saying red for yellow and blue for green. Try substituting different colors. Keep track of your time and stay with it until each exercise flows quickly and smoothly. Last, call out the direction of the arrow as if red and green arrows were turned a ¼-turn clockwise and yellow and blue were turned ¼-turn counterclockwise. You will find yourself
not only doing the familiar ones easier, but mastering each new variation faster as well. This is because your brain is growing new connections to handle the challenges!

Directions

Step 1: From left to right, top to bottom, call out the direction the eyes are looking (from your perspective —“down, left, up, right…”) Have someone time you. Do it without error in 30 seconds. Keep practicing until you can do it in only 15 seconds.

Step 2: Now try it from the face’s perspective (as if you were the face looking out from the page – “down, right, up, left…”.) It’s harder, isn’t it! You have increased the difficulty by adding a second mental challenge (adjusting for the change in perspective). Don’t worry though…your brain can adapt and grow!

Step 3: Next, call out the color of each without error in 30 seconds. Get that time down to 15 seconds without error. Not too tough unless you are color blind! (but now comes the fun…)

Step 4: This time, begin doing exercise 1 (above) but point your finger in the opposite direction each time (“down [point up], left [point right], up [point down]…”). You have added an element that requires divided attention. Once mastered, increase the difficulty by switching (point the direction the eyes are looking and call out the opposite direction) only when you come to a green face. Try substituting different colors. Keep track of your time and stay with it until each exercise flows quickly and smoothly. You will find yourself not only doing the familiar ones easier, but mastering each new variation faster as well. This is because your brain is growing new connections to handle the challenges!
